The highly anticipated period drama "Hari Hara Veera Mallu – Part 1: Sword vs. Spirit," starring Pawan Kalyan, has made a strong beginning at the box office. Despite numerous production delays, the movie had a great first day, grossing ₹31.50 crore in India and ₹12.7 crore from paid premieres, for a total of ₹44.20 crore on the first day.
Other languages lag behind Telugu.
In Telugu-speaking states, the movie did remarkably well, with high attendance in Hyderabad (66.75% occupancy) and Vijayawada (77% occupancy). Throughout the day, the Telugu version's average occupancy rate was 57.39%. The dubbed versions, however, saw lesser percentages: Tamil (8.24%), Kannada (9.96%), and Hindi (12.43%).
Uneven Reviews Could Affect Momentum
The film's tempo and visual effects have drawn criticism from early reviews, despite the encouraging figures. With a rating of 2.5 out of 5, ETimes said:
"Hari Hara," Veera Mallu has trouble with visual refinement and narrative coherence, yet it might win over Pawan Kalyan's devoted followers and admirers of epic period plays. Even with Pawan Kalyan's dominant performance and MM Keeravaani's excellent score, the movie frequently seems like a lost chance.
Star Cast and Runtime
Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, the film features Nidhhi Agerwal, Bobby Deol, Nargis Fakhri, and Nora Fatehi in pivotal roles. With a runtime of nearly three hours, the film will need strong word-of-mouth to sustain momentum through the weekend.
Will It Last Until the Weekend?
The movie's long-term viability, according to industry analysts, will depend on how well it does on Saturday and Sunday. Given Pawan Kalyan's enormous fan base and the production's majesty, trade analysts anticipate a stable run until negative reviews have an impact on attendance.
